Installation

To obtain the system, please transfer CB_install, cb41_general.tar.gz and cb41_sun4.tar.gz or cb41_i86pc.tar.gz or both to your local machine. To install the system, ensure that the script CB_install is executable. If not, change the permission mode and run CB_install.

The script will install or update the system and create the file login.new, which contains the settings of all necessary environment variables.

The graphbrowser tool needs special Andrew-Toolkit fonts to operate correctly. These fonts must be accessible through the X11-fontpath. To ensure this, extend the fontpath with the following command:

xset fp+ $CB_HOME/lib/andrew6.3/X11fonts

We recommend to

• create a special user cbase to be responsible for the installation and owning all installed files.
• create a group cbase in /etc/groups and assign each ConceptBase user to it
