ConceptBase Workbench

 

The ConceptBaseWorkbench window is always present on the screen during a session. (see Figure 4.1)

The numbers in Figure 4.1 refer to the following areas in the ConceptBaseWorkbench main window:

1. Menubar.
The Menubar provides a set of functions, explained in Section 4.1.1.
2. Smart Icon Panel.
The Smart Icons provide Editor-related functions like Cut, Copy, Paste, Tell, Untell, Ask, etc. See Section 4.1.2.
3. Editor Field.
The Editor field allows easy editing of Telos syntax, described in Section 4.1.3.
3a. Editor Slider.
Scrolls the edited text.
4. Protocol Field.
Shows the interaction protocol between the ConceptBaseWorkbench and ConceptBase Server. Please refer to Section 4.1.4 .
4a. Protocol Slider.
Scrolls the protocol text.
4b. Protocol bar.
Resizes the Protocol Field. Just click and drag bar to change size.
5. Statusline.
Provides status information such as connected state, success of the last transaction, etc. See Section 4.1.5.

The following subsections explain the forementioned functional areas of the ConceptBaseWorkbench.
