In this lecture course, the area of document management will be introduced. The main concepts will be discussed and different application areas will be presented.

In particular, the following issues will be covered:

	document access and retrieval
	information sharing
	cooperative authoring, modification, versioning of documents
	web-based document management
	document management in electronic commerce
