Short Biography
Dr. Ing. Lemonia Ragia has
a diploma degree (1993) from the Department of Rural and Surveying
Engineering at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Her
doctoral degree (2001) was at the Institute of Photogrammetry,
University of Bonn,
Germany. Her doctoral thesis was entitled, ‘A data quality model for
validating photogrammetric data Acquisition’. After completing her
doctoral thesis she joined the Fraunhofer Institute for Autonomous
Intelligent Systems as a Post-Doctoral Fellow 2001-2003. Since April 2003
she is working as a research scientist at the computer science
department of the Technical University of Aachen in the area of
Geoinformatics. She worked in several projects in different application
areas of image processing, data quality, and spatial data mining.
In 2003 she visited the
group of Phil Bernstein
at Microsoft Research to
work on schema matching for Geo data.
