HiWi position
for mobile computing
12 hours/week.
We
are looking for a student to apply OO, Web programming, database
knowledge or mobile
technologies in shaping and developing mobile information systems
in our DFG
research cluster
UMIC
within the German Excellence Initiative.
Next-generation mobile applications will be greatly based on mobile
internet services. Simple services need to be developed to fulfill some
smart tasks on mobile platforms, within the
Virtual Campfire scenario.
Existing services include user management services for the community
engine, multimedia metedata (MPEG-7) services for the multimedia engine.
The first task aims to strengthen the multimedia engine through
developing a multimedia adaptation service with the XML technologies.
We expect students
*being good at Java or
C++ programming (J2ME skills will be preferred);
*having knowledge about database technologies (SQL, JDBC etc);
*having programming experiences in Web Services, XML or Web
applications;
*to be a team player;
*having no problem with written or spoken English;
*will be preferred, if any other programming experiences in mobile
computing is mastered.
